After an inspiring weekend at Pacific Contact where Ryan Gladstone and I both represented Monster Theatre and showcased shows for potential presenters,, I'm finally back in the paint
A visit to the Vancouver Art Gallery last week with my old friend Jenifer Darbellay has inspired me and got the fire burning once again.
I have myself set up in a studio here in Vancouver for the next week. I'm working on a commission, and touching up and shipping out paintings from my storage locker. The painting I'm currently working on is from Haida Gwaii, and it's always nice to be working on such a lovely landscape.
The trip that I took to perform my one-man show, Assassinatung Thompson with Ryan Gladstone as my technician/stage manager was such a lovely and inspiring time. I truly do wish I could go back there.
This painting will be the sixth in the series from that trip, so it must've made an impact on me.
I've found that working on paintings like this, from a photograph of a beautiful place I've been to, makes me feel like I'm there again.
You'll excuse me while I take a trip. ...
